After hearing the news of being invited to four local weddings this year, even while bride and groom reside in places as far flung as Scotland, Leeds and Cornwall, I was intrigued… what made the home counties such an idyllic spot for a wedding? The beautiful surroundings of many of our local houses and estates was a main factor in my family and friends decisions to wed near to Thame, the service from hotels and organisers was another, but mainly it was the quality of the suppliers which stood out.

This month, there are many wedding fayres taking place across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire which will help you to decide what will make your day even more special, but we also have some supplier recommendations of our own.

Lets start with the dress:

We were lucky enough to be invited to have a look around The Anna McDonald Bridal Gallery, a bridal gallery in East Street, Thame. Anna stocks a stunning collection of wedding dresses by internationally renowned designers in the latest styles, and can order in any dress you like. Anna also stocks fantastic shoes and accessories – the jewellery and veils are exquisite. Anna’s bridal gallery is a beautiful place to start your search for the perfect gown, but what really sets Anna apart is her attention to detail, and her personal service for each and every bride. Anna provides her brides with a professional consultation by private appointment at a time and day to suit them, and as well as stocking leading designer brides dresses, she has a fantastic collection for bridesmaids and beautiful accessories.
