Nerves were simmering last Monday as Three local talented Chefs battled it out to be crowned the winner of The Barr Christmas Dish Off!

Three fantastic local businesses and talented Chefs were selected by the team at Barr Kitchens to take part in their exclusive Christmas Dish Off. Ros and Hen from Hampton Cookery were the first to jump at the chance to showcase the type of dishes they teach their students in their cookery classes, and were placed in the AGA Kitchen at the Barr Kitchens showroom in Thame.

Busy father of two Matt from The Hundred in Ashendon was next to join the competition, cooking a fantastic locally sourced dish, typical of the delicious home-cooked foods on offer at The Hundred. And last but certainly not least was Kim from UGG foods in Long Crendon, offering a fabulous alternative to the stodgy Christmas deserts which leave us all wishing we’d popped out for a run instead of having ‘just one more piece’.

Three scrumptious recipes feature in our full-length programme, to be released this weekend, but before then you have the opportunity to win some amazing prizes courtesy of our contributors. Simply watch our trailer (produced with the help of parent company ScissorPaperStone )  follow Barr Kitchens on Facebook or Twitter, Share the video with the comment #VoteHundred #VoteHampton or #VoteUGG and your name for your chance to win a hamper of goodies from UGG, a Lamb Tagine for two from Hampton Cookery and a Bottle of Champagne.

The winner will be announced on Sunday 13th December, with the release of the full (and fun) video!

Special thanks goes to our judges and sponsors – Julie from AGA in Thame, who also sponsored both the main programme and trailer, Joanne from Miele, Thame Mayor Nichola Dixon, and Stuart Barr. The video was created on a tough budget, and could only have been achieved by everyone pulling together and contributing time, skills and sharing their love of food! A fantastic day was had by all, and we hope you enjoy watching the video as much as we did creating it.
